Winter 2010 Plus Size Fashion Trends

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I like the website Trendy Plus Size Clothes which is a shopping guide to help you find the best trendy plus size cheap fashions for any occasion.

Winter 2010 Plus Size Fashion Trends

Black is back in a big way! Hot pink continues from spring as a top color, while spring’s lavender continues as a deeper purple. Bright colors, 1980s neons and jewel tones are the other top colors. The traditional fall colors and the lighter neutrals are around, but are overshadowed by black, gray and brighter colors. Monochromatic styles – wearing the same color from head to toe is in.

Fabrics are luxurious – even velvet and leather. Bold colors paired with black and solid colors are most prevelant, but black and white prints, plaids and tweeds are also popular. Animal prints are everywhere and you will see lots of denim.

Dresses will be shorter and more fitted. Sheath dresses will be very popular. Many Trendy Plus Size Clothes Dresses will be “draped and shaped”. Pear shapes rejoice! Big shoulders are back! Fairy-Tale style dresses are still in style for plus size formal wear and brides and will influence less formal dresses as well. The one-shoulder style will be big in formal and special occasion wear.

Plus Size Black Dresses are always in style. If you want to go trendy, find one with an asymmetrical and/or embellished top. Because black is such a huge color, this would be a good season to find that perfect black dress.

Look Fabulous in Your Plus Size Gown

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Whether you are going to a big fancy party or a cosy dinner with your lover, all shapely ladies will look and feel wonderful in plus size gowns.

The designers may not believe it, but women are not all the same size. We are all beautiful, especially when we are ourselves and not self conscious about our bodies.

It’s a fact that we plus size women have more curves than our  size 0 counterparts. Embrace those curves and go shopping to find that perfect plus size gown that will flatter you and make you stand out in a crowd. Here is a list to keep in mind.

1. Look for an A line. It would be the most flattering on your figure to not have too much bulk around the waist and hip area. So look for a line that would skim your side and keep going to the hem. Avoid Toto type gatherings in the waist area.

2. Emphasize Your Bust. This does not necessarily mean you should go crazy with the cleavage. It just means to make that part the focal point. There are flirty dresses perfect for wearing to an evening event that have shaping and detail in the bodice. You can be quit tasteful with this. Look for sparkly accents and patterns made with the fabric.

3. Do not forget to get the right foundation. Do you want to wear some sort of smoother under your  gown? I know this is going to make you think of your grandma, but do not despair. There are wonderful new products out on the market now to keep you looking wonderful.

Looking for that perfect gown may take some time and patience to find, but it will be worth it. Sometimes when you are tired and feeling discouraged it may seem that everything only comes in size 0 to 16. I am here to tell you that there are tons of gowns in plus sizes, but keep looking and you will find them. A great place to look is online. The selection is so much better.

Plus Size Cheap – Where to Buy

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

This site gives a list of the best places online to find trendy plus size cheap women’s clothing.

I often get asked if I know of any sites that carry cute plus size cheap clothes. It seems all too often when we go to the plus size section we only see frumpy grandma clothes!

I’m a size 16 and I feel your pain. It’s hard to find plus size cheap clothes that are also CUTE, especially when you need something dressy. Macy’s is carrying nice stuff but they are expensive. Sometimes it seems as if you want to be in style, you have to pay big bucks. But there are places to get fashionable, plus size cheap clothing online.

Check out the following places online to find cute, plus size, cheap women’s clothing.

Alight and Sizeappeal are both devoted to plus size and have some great sale areas on their sites.

(The images shown here are all clothes from Alight. When you get to their site, click on “Shop by Boutique” and then scroll down to “sale items”.)

And for more fun options in every category of curvy, check out Diva Boutique.

Have you tried Lane Bryant? They have a nice online store, and if you have a mall nearby check out their clearance section in the back — you can find some nice plus size cheap clothes there.

You could try Lands’ End overstock section. They have really nice traditional clothing. I couldn’t call any of it frumpy. It is too nice of clothing.

If you go to jcpenny.com click on “women” then “juniors”.  They have lots of cute plus size outfits for reasonable prices.

Torrid is a store especially for plus sizes.

I love Coldwater Creek cause they have plus sizes, but they are not exactly cheap.  Sometimes they have really good sales and there is always a coupon for $25.00 off a $l00.00 purchase. The coupon is in magazines. Go online to get their catalog. I also love their costume jewelry.

You might also try Ross and Beals, which can have plus size cheap sale items. Also Old Navy, Gap and Banana Republic have young styles in plus size cheap clothes.

And Fashion Bug is an online store with a good plus size section.

Cute, cheap and chic – I am assuming that this is what any ‘Curvy Diva’ would want. Hope this list helps you find some really nice cute plus size cheap clothes.

Keep thriving…
